The scientific programme included plenary sessions, oral contributions, and poster sessions, providing ample opportunities for discussion and exchange among researchers and early-career scientists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1746\">During the workshop, <strong data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1282\">Giuseppe Sottile<\/strong> (INAF \u2013 IASF Palermo) presented the contribution entitled <em data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1441\">\u201cThe focal plane cameras of the ASTRI Mini-Array air-Cherenkov telescopes for gamma-ray astronomy\u201d<\/em>. Crediti: INAF \/ Giovanni Pareschi<\/small><\/div><\/div><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-6xtm0-ba0dd878362c90acf8117ca1c9436810 av_two_third  avia-builder-el-9  el_after_av_one_third  avia-builder-el-last  flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-mjcskswz-d5357b6b6a98ff8ee5e5ffd9e02a6892 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p data-start=\"1802\" data-end=\"2079\">On <strong data-start=\"1805\" data-end=\"1831\">9 and 10 December 2025<\/strong>, in Asiago, <strong data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1865\">Giovanni Pareschi<\/strong>, Principal Investigator of the ASTRI project, took part in the second edition of the conference <em data-start=\"1962\" data-end=\"2014\">\u201cFrom Quantum Astronomy to Quantum Communications\u201d<\/em>, organised by <strong data-start=\"2029\" data-end=\"2065\">Quantum Telecommunications Italy<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2078\">INAF<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2428\">The conference brought together representatives of the national and international scientific and technological communities to explore the dialogue between quantum astronomy and quantum communications, with particular attention to photon-based technologies, terrestrial and satellite quantum communication networks, and their possible applications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2988\">In his presentation, Giovanni Pareschi discussed new perspectives for the use of <strong data-start=\"2511\" data-end=\"2562\">Cherenkov telescopes beyond gamma-ray astronomy<\/strong>. In particular, the feasibility of using <strong data-start=\"2604\" data-end=\"2709\">ASTRI telescopes as low-cost demonstrators for space communications in the visible and infrared bands<\/strong> is currently being evaluated. Thanks to their large collecting area and significantly lower construction costs compared to traditional optical telescopes, Cherenkov telescopes represent a strategic resource for the development of new optical communication approaches from space.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3473\">The medium-term goal is to initiate <strong data-start=\"3026\" data-end=\"3065\">coordinated observational campaigns<\/strong> between the ASTRI telescopes and the <strong data-start=\"3103\" data-end=\"3164\">Optical Ground Station of the European Space Agency (ESA)<\/strong>, located at the Teide Observatory in Tenerife, at the same site as the ASTRI Mini-Array.
