ASTRI is the first telescope for astronomy Cherenkov to have adopted the optical configuration of the Schwarzschild-Couder type.
We are working both on the characterization of the ASTRI prototype and also to the preparatory activities for the realization of the mini array, after the optimization of the first design of the telescope based on the commissioning activities carried out at the Serra La Nave site.
The current contract for the construction of the ASTRI prototype also includes the construction of the first three prototype structures of the mini-array, while the primary and secondary mirrors of the 9 telescopes are already in production.
